Our Technique Makes All the Difference
It's not just about the products we use — our application technique plays a huge role too.
We use a one stroke method, which means the paint is applied lightly and efficiently in a single, fluid movement. You might wonder what difference that makes — quite a lot, as it turns out!
Applying paint lightly means less product sits on the surface of the skin, which significantly reduces any chance of transference onto surfaces like bouncy castles. But here's the best part: lighter application doesn't mean it wears off faster. Quite the opposite — the paint stays on beautifully throughout the event, and when it is time to remove it, it washes off easily and gently before bedtime. No scrubbing, no fuss, no staining of pillowcases.
It's the best of both worlds for parents and event organisers alike.
Not All Face Paints Are Equal
This is where it's important to be clear: the type of face paint used makes all the difference. Some products should be avoided entirely.
Avoid marketplace and fast-fashion paints — products purchased from platforms such as Temu or AliExpress are often unregulated, low quality, and can contain ingredients that are unsafe for skin. These are not professional products and should never be used on children or adults at events.
What about Snazaroo? Snazaroo is widely regarded as a quality brand and is safe to use. However, it is a very chalky formula, which means the colours are not as bright or vibrant as professional-grade alternatives. To achieve good coverage and colour payoff, you need to apply a lot of product. This can block the skin's pores, cause sweating, and ultimately result in the paint sliding or lifting off the face — not ideal at a busy event.

A Note on Sweating & Extreme Temperatures
We believe in being honest with our customers, so here's an important note: no face painter, regardless of skill or product quality, can fully combat face paint running in extreme heat or on children who sweat heavily.
Face paints are water-based products — that's what makes them safe, gentle, and easy to remove. But it also means that water — whether from sweat or heat — will naturally activate and break down the paint over time. This is true of every brand and every technique.
Our top tip? Let children enjoy the bouncy castle or soft play activities first, and get their faces painted afterwards. This way they're not hot and sweaty when the paint goes on, giving it the best possible chance of lasting well throughout the rest of the event.
